Shock and concern! Those two words were the appropriate words to describe the disaster befell on our brothers and sisters, the victims of the broken down Situ Gintung Old Dam in Ciputat, 21 March 2009 at around 5 in the morning. Totally 99 victims died and hundreds were wounded. Not only that, many people’s houses were shattered, crashed by the sump, not to mention their things that could not be saved because they did not have any chance to save their things.
HDI Foundation were concerned upon this incident. The location of Situ Gintung were muddy and full of shattered goods, caused unhealthy condition and easy to get disease. Because of that, we tried to lighten the victims’ load and help to maintain their healthiness by donating 2,763 bottles of High Dessert Bee Propolis food supplement upon CC Pollen Co., USA support.
This donation was directly distributed through Army Squad under the supervision of general practitioners to the victims directly on Saturday, 28 March 2009 and afterward to some appointed local health centers which in charge to provide free treatment for all victims during the recovery. This food supplement function was to maintain body stamina and to help recovery process after being sick.
We hope the victims still have strength to face this disaster and we pray together that the same disaster will not be happened again in our lovely country.
