Earthquake Relief Effort
In May 2006, an earthquake struck the historic city of Yogyakarta, resulting in over 6,000 deaths, injuring between 40,000 and 60,000 people and leaving an estimated 1.5 million homeless. The situation was so bad that many of the injured had to be treated in very makeshift locations such as in car parks, and on the streets as hospitals were damaged and the people feared aftershocks.
To help the injured speed up recovery and prevent others from being infected with diseases, 12 villages received 11.223 bottles of food supplement:
Kaliputih, Tarudan, Gondosuli, Srunggo II, Cepoko, Beran, Bajang Daleman, Panjangan, Sungapan, Morgorejo, Tegal Gendeng, Basen.
