Nutrition programme, South Jakarta
Shortly after the massive flooding in Jakarta, the health situation took a turn for the worse especially amongst the children. Cases of diarrhea, fever, respiratory infection, flu and cough were on the rise. Without money, these children were not able to get any medical attention.
Due to a shortage of food supply and nutrients during the flood, children were very prone to falling sick and coming down with illnesses. We were alerted to this grave condition the children were in.
Over 450 bottles of food supplement (Bee Propolis and Clover Honey) were distributed by our volunteers for 100 infants in Pejaten Barat, South Jakarta. Through close monitoring and supervision, these children were slowly nursed back to health. One month into the programme, we are happy that over 35% of the infants have gained up to 4 pounds in weight and are in good health.
