To increase children's motivation to follow the learning activity well can be done through various activities and creativity, that child's intelligence is not only measured by the ability of the brain, but also to note his ability to manage his emotions.
This concept was delivered by Ineke and Hans van FlorensteinPangerasan Junior High School and from some public primary schools around Cijeruk subdistrict, Bogor, like Pangerasan Primary School, CiherangPrimary School, Cibalung Primary School, Cibaok Primary School, etc. Mulder to 43 teachers who came from
In this training, Ineke and Hans shared a variety of practical experiences as well as practiced directly with all participant variety of exercises or physical activity that can be done inside classroom or outdoor to train children on how to concentrate, to build confidence, courage, and that is not less important is to experience directly and share each other inspirations.
Experience is very important for children so that they can experience direct learning, not only given a theory everyday. In addition, Ineke also emphasized on a variety of outdoor activities which are in direct contact with nature, it is to build children’s understanding and sensitivity to natural’s complexity. Surely, all things above is adjusted with the child’s age level.
From a very simple form of activity, we can train them all. One of the activities is clapping hands using long and short sound tones alternatively. This can be applied by teachers in preparing their students to be ready to learn in the morning. Teachers need to consider that each student comes from a variety of different backgrounds and every day they come to school with different levels of readiness and conditions, therefore teachers need to prepare all student’s concentration in the morning, so the students can absorb the lessons delivered during the day.
Another point of concern here is that every child has a different level of intelligence. There are 8 intelligences that can be defined, namely language, logic, spatial (space/area), motoric, music, social, emotional maturity and arts. A child can have one or more multiple intelligences.
Ideally, a teacher should not only pay attention on a child’s level of intelligence by the academic intelligence and measure it based on the passing grade only. Creativity is required from each teacher to explore the potential of every student as well as keep on developing exciting learning methods so that students can understand the lessons better and certainly will improve the academic skills gradually.
