Improving Quality of Education with Binus University’s Teach for Indonesia Program

On 13/4/2013, HDI Foundation (HDIF) and Binus University signed a collaboration agreement at Anggrek Campus of Binus University, West Jakarta.

Binus University was represented by Mr. Andreas Chang (2nd Vice Rector), Ms. Maria Intan setiadi (Community Development Center Manager), and present from HDIF was Peter Chia, Lia Devianty, Sidi Rana Menggala and Yeni Mardyana.

Both parties agreed to work together to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, involving employees, volunteers and also the students and lecturers from Binus University.

Binus University will provide HDIF students with computer training for students at PGRI Palasari Junior High School - Bogor, Teluk Naga Open Junior High School - Tangerang, and MI Al-Istiqomah – Pulo Gadung.

Training for teachers will also be provided with emphasis on character development/child psychology. And community development programs to build awareness of the importance of education.

”I hope the collaboration between HDIF and Binus University can take place smoothly and help in improving the quality of education in Indonesia,” said Mr. Chang.
