3 March 2013. Coaches of Karang Widya – Learning Farm, Cianjur delighted 43 students and 4 school teachers from Pangerasan Junior High School, Bogor with free Organic Farming Training.  The Coaches are from different Regions who had undergone 3 months of training.

The purpose was "learning organic farming as a life skill", which is part of HDIF’s program to develop economic independence in the community.

The first lesson is to promote soil and plant health through recycling waste, leftover crop residues and manure. Students were taught proper land management by planting the right combination of crops, crop rotation and regular maintenance. Emphasis was to avoid chemicals traditionally used as fertilizers and pesticides.
Karang Widya taught local micro-organism (LMO) for the production of fertilizers, selection of the media for seedlings, proper administration of the land, and correct maintenance and care.

The day was very fruitful.  The lessons taught reinforced the practical experience of students and teachers in the on going organic farming project at their school.
